i like. good shots. well done.
(and your portrait reminds me of the shrunken heads scene from beetlejuice.)
Posted by: steph at December 2, 2004 10:25 AMgood eye, great execution, rich colors. i like them all; the apples, wood pile, and tree in particular. that larger than life tree trunk and gentle, small mushrooms, and the ethereal look reminds me of a miyazaki movie.
Posted by: Neil E. Das at December 2, 2004 11:22 AMthe best so far, jeremy. longing for the lack of cost and chemistry that digital cameras bring.

steph, thank you. yes, the portrait is funny, made more so by the fact that i was wearing a jacket with big collars turned up, so i look like i have a pointy goatee.
Posted by: jeremy at December 2, 2004 04:17 PMneil, thank you. i have no idea who miyazaki is, but i like the sound of it.
Posted by: jeremy at December 2, 2004 04:17 PMd., thank you. actually, i took these with my lomo, which is an entirely manual 35mm. no electronics in that baby. but i do scan, crop, touch up, and border them, so i suppose they are digital in that sense.
Posted by: jeremy at December 2, 2004 04:19 PMhayao miyazaki is the animator/illustrator of films such "spirited away" and "princess mononoke," the only two of his i have seen.
http://www.nausicaa.net/miyazaki/mh/trailers/princessmononoke.mov they are movies steeped in japanese mythology, and some what of a trip, and philosophical vacation at that, but there are some beautiful and true images and themes
neil--i've actually seen spirited away and enjoyed it. that no face character is so c.s.lewisean.
Posted by: jeremy at December 2, 2004 05:42 PMc.s. lewisean? how so?
Posted by: Neil E. Das at December 2, 2004 05:56 PM* i like the shoes. (said that way because "i like the legs" sounds odd).
Posted by: jane. at December 2, 2004 06:32 PMNo Face reminded me of the Tragedian in The Great Divorce.
Posted by: Kammer at December 2, 2004 07:00 PMthanks, kammer--i had the great divorce in mind, as well.
Posted by: jeremy at December 2, 2004 07:34 PMthanks, jane. me, too, though i don't feel bad saying i like the "legwear," also.
Posted by: jeremy at December 2, 2004 07:35 PMactually jer, my digital wish was not a comment on your images, but a desire to post my own...which will never happen without some digital intervention. money and darkrooms are a thing of my past.
;)
