bitter candy redux

If you were with me last year this time, you might remember my Valentine's Day offering for those who, well, would just as soon sleep the day through. In the spirits of empathy and commiseration, I offered up my special Valentine's candy to help them through the day. Another year, another group of bitter folk, another batch of bitter Valentine's candy. And because there's some left from last year, I'll post it, as well. Click on the candy for a better view.

I'm actually excited today. It might be because my coworker made giant heart-shaped sugar cookies with pink sprinkles and heart confetti... and I have one sitting on my desk with a giant candy-red-hot "A" in the center.

by the way, i love that candy. I like last year's too. Jer 17:9. heh.

* it takes talent to rip paper so meticulously. i'm impressed. i still laugh when i read the "how's your quiet time?" one. i always joke i'm holding out on marriage until my friends are all established in their careers so they can afford better wedding presents. secrets revealed.

Jeremiah 16:2 might be a good option, too... :p

Wow, those are pretty bitter. They made me feel so much less bitter by comparison. Good candy.

glad to help, valerie. thanks all for the comments, even for throwing scripture at me (thanks, manders).

last year, these candies were my first introduction to you. michelle read them to me over the phone, and i wasn't in the mood to listen, but i ended up laughing really hard. and then i cried and told her i was hopelessly in love with t.s. eliot.

that's a good memory. i think i'll hold on to it.
