for tattletales and babies

Here are some video clips from the Thursday night Sedaris reading. Sorry for the quality--I had to keep them relatively small for my dial-up friends. Videos graciously hosted by the folks at Putfile.

hey, jeremy, who is this Sedaris guy? Is he famous or something?

Posted by: Anthony at April 24, 2005 05:56 PM

anthony, yes, he's a literary "big-shot." he appears on This American Life regularly, and his books have sold hundreds of thousands.

I've been a fan of Sedaris for many years now. Thanks for sharing this. This American Life has archives online -- I visit regularly.

ooooooooh!! ok, thanks. Yeah, literature stuff is not my area, so I don't know much about that world. Can you recommend a book or his? I'm just not starting to read more fiction (I'm an information junky so I struggle to read things that do not have hard data in the text).

anthony, Me Talk Pretty One Day is probably his most well-known book. He writes non-fiction, though it's an exaggerated form of the personal essay. He's more just telling funny stories based on real-life experiences.

William, yeah, I'm a big fan of the archives. I often use them with my Creative Writing and Freshman Comp students.

hey, jeremy-- i'm seeing d. sedaris on thursday (second time), and am so excited all over myself. i meant to get a stadium-pal (or rather, stadium-gal) so i don't miss a moment, but it just hasn't fit in to the budget.
and i saw ira glass his last time through, and it was very inspiring.
that is all.
